Gift of Hope Benefit Dinner Set

Findlay, Ohio, April 2, 2003 — The University of Findlay will host the second annual Gift of Hope Hispanic Scholarship Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hacienda Restaurant in Findlay.

Keynote speaker for the event is Juan Andrade Jr., president of the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute, a national organization based in Chicago, Ill. The mission of the institute is to fulfill the promises and principles of democracy by empowering minorities by maximizing civic awareness and participation in the electoral process. Andrade is one of only two Latino recipients a Presidential medal for performance of exemplary deeds for the nation in leadership development and civic participation.

The Gift of Hope Hispanic Scholarship was established by The University of Findlay’s undergraduate language and culture program to assist its students. The scholarship is awarded to an Hispanic or Latino student who is a permanent resident of the United States or a natural citizen of the United States with a major or minor in a foreign language or with an endorsement in TESOL or bilingual/multicultural studies.
