Findlay, Ohio, June 11, 2003 — The School of Environmental and Emergency Management at The University of Findlay is offering a new training and consulting course to address DOT (HM-232) June 24-26 at UF.
This three-day course addresses the fast-paced regulation requiring shippers, transporters and other companies that ship hazardous materials to conduct vulnerability assessments and have security plans in place by December 2003.
Topics for the training include an introduction and awareness of HM-232 requirements, assessment of transportation risks, development of measures to address and assess enroute risk from origin to final destination, development of a personnel security confirmation system, recognition and response to security threats and development of a security plan implementation program.
Classroom and field exercises will provide hands-on hazardous materials risk assessment and vulnerability assessment training, enabling participants to develop their own security plans and achieve compliance with HM-232 requirements.
For a discount on the registration fee, register by June 17. For information, contact the School of Environmental and Emergency Management at 1-800-521-1292 or seem@findlay.edu.
