UF’s Henderson Dining Hall to Hold Grand Opening Celebration
Monday, September 22, 2003

Findlay, Ohio, Sept. 22, 2003 — Henderson Dining Hall at The University of Findlay will hold its Grand Opening Celebration on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m., unveiling its newly renovated facility.

Completed this summer, the renovation was quite extensive. Seating was expanded from 320 to 509, not including the seating available in the Rosewood Room, which has been relocated to the east side of the facility and seats 70. New restroom facilities are located where the Rosewood Room used to be. A total of 2,338 square feet was gained through the renovation.

Two entrances are seen from Frazer Street, one for Deming Residence Hall and one for Henderson Dining Hall, making the flow of traffic more logical. The front entrance was moved slightly so that customers can see the food court upon entering, and new carpet, tile, ceiling, lighting and interior design welcome visitors.

Serving lines have been spread throughout the facility, better directing the flow of traffic. Trays and silverware are located at each of the 10 stations, which include the Farmer’s Market, Center of the Plate, Hot off the Grill, Tossed Around Pizza, The Granary, The Deli Case, Flash in the Pan, On the Rise Bakeshop, the ice cream station and three beverage stations.

The back of the house also received work, with a walk-in cooler, two steamers, double-stacking convection oven, three-bay gas fryer and a dish conveyor belt added. In addition, the Sodexho Campus Services office has been relocated to the front entrance of the facility.

The Grand Opening Celebration is open to the public.
