Monday, September 29, 2003

Findlay, Ohio, Sept. 29, 2003 — Artist Steve Elmore will be featured at a Gallery Talk on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery, Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, at The University of Findlay.

His paintings will be on display in the Lea Gallery through Oct. 24. The New Mexico artist’s 11 oil on canvas paintings are all based on themes from the southwestern United States.

Generally landscaped-oriented, the paintings include Juniper Bird, Earth Dreams and Mountains, which refer to the Carlsbad Caverns where he grew up. There are also some works that deal with Native American themes.

Elmore is the owner of a gallery in Sante Fee, N.M., which specializes in historic Native American art.

The Gallery Talk and the exhibit are free and open to the public. The Lea Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
