Findlay, Ohio, Oct. 10, 2003 -- Enrollment for the fall of 2003 at The University of Findlay has risen above the 4,700 mark.
Total enrollment is 4,711 for 2003, compared to 4,586 last fall, an increase of 125 students or 2.7 percent. The 2003 enrollment count includes 3,430 undergraduate students and 1,281 graduate students.
New student enrollment for the fall of 2003 stands at 1,534 students, which includes 1,078 undergraduate students and 456 graduate students. New student enrollment is up over fall 2002, when 1,470 new students enrolled. There were 1,481 new students enrolled for the 2001 fall semester.
Academic majors that saw increases over the last two years include accounting, English equestrian studies, western equestrian studies, finance, hospitality management, nuclear medicine technology, physical therapy, pre-medicine, pre-nursing, pre-veterinary medicine and theatre.
Total enrollment in graduate programs this fall is 1,281, up from fall 2002 when there were 1,197 graduate students. A total of 1,205 graduate students were enrolled in fall 2001.
There are currently 430 international students from 40 countries studying at The University of Findlay. This is an increase over fall 2002, which saw 368 international students enrolled. There were 425 international students enrolled in fall 2001.
