Hundreds of the Nation’s Finest Intercollegiate English Riders

Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 24, 2003 — The University of Findlay’s English riding program and Three Chimneys, Inc., will host 26 of the nation’s finest collegiate riding teams in the two-day Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Holiday Tournament of Champions Invitational Saturday, Dec. 6, and Sunday, Dec. 7, at the James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex, 11178 County Road 201, Findlay.

Colleges and universities, many of them division I schools, will travel from as far as 2,400 miles to attend the tournament, which will feature jumping and flat competitions. Events will begin with opening ceremonies on Saturday at 8:15 a.m., followed by competition from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday, jumping classes will begin at 8 a.m. followed by flat classes until 11 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow. Saturday will feature a Dressage Exhibition, and Sunday will feature a Vaulting Exhibition.

The schools participating include Berry College (Georgia), Centenary College (New Jersey), University of Connecticut, Colorado State University, University of Delaware, University of Michigan, Mount Holyoke College (Massachusetts), North Carolina State University, Penn State University, Rutgers University (New Jersey), Stonehill College (Massachusetts), Texas A&M, University of Fairfield (Connecticut), Cal Poly-Pomona (California), Ohio University, Miami University (Ohio), Otterbein College (Ohio), Purdue University (Indiana), University of the South (Tennessee), St. Andrews Presbyterian College (North Carolina), St. Lawrence University (New York), Vanderbilt University (Tennessee), Virginia Intermont College, Virginia Tech University, University of Wisconsin and The University of Findlay.
