The Little Prince to be Staged at UF

Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 24, 2003 — The Little Prince, based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, will be staged at The University of Findlay Dec. 5 and 6 at 8 p.m. in the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre.
This presentation of The Little Prince is the final project for UF’s Advanced Directing class. Directors for the show are Chelsea Riggs, Andrea Coto and Kyle Kutchenriter.
According to some sources, The Little Prince is the third most popular book in the world, after the Holy Bible and the Koran. Originally published in 1943, it has since been translated into more than 40 languages and has been enjoyed by generations of children and adults. The Little Prince is the story of an aviator who grows up, wrecks a plane in a desert and is confronted by a little boy from a different planet. This adaptation is one of the most popular plays ever produced by the award-winning children’s theatre company, Theatreworks/USA.
The cast includes Kurt Aller as The Aviator; Caitlin Newell as The Little Prince; Nikki Coe as A Player, A King and A Fox; Nick Toland as A Player, An Egoist and A Bird; and Christine Hollington as A Player, A Businesswoman and A Rose. Set and lighting design is by Jerry Deall, and costume design is by Kathy Newell.
