Findlay, Ohio, March 16, 2004 — The University of Findlay’s Center for Terrorism Preparedness has partnered with Veritas Analytics, a global business consultancy firm, to address both domestic and international security issues for government and commercial clients.
Recently, UF and Veritas developed “Introduction to Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT),” a course designed to assistant those interested in becoming members of the U.S Customs and Border Security.
The C-TPAT course is designed to assist organizations involved in trade within the United States to meet the requirements established by the U.S Customs and Border Security C-TPAT Office. Taught by former customs and law enforcement officers and security professionals, the course offers industry-best practices in security organization supply chain.
This introductory course is the first in a series planned by Veritas and the Center for Terrorism Preparedness. Other courses will address the operational security needs of organizations.
The “Introduction to C-TPAT” course is open to manufacturers, importers, licensed brokers, air carriers, sea carriers, air freight consolidators/ocean transportation intermediaries and marine port authority/terminal operators. The Center for Terrorism Preparedness was instituted in 1999 as an outgrowth of other emergency response training conducted at Findlay. Its mission is to develop integrated training programs that will assist communities in the preparation for, response to and recovery from possible terrorist incidents and comparable natural disasters. The CTP develops courses to meet the needs of corporate safety and security personnel; the public health/medical community; first responders; law enforcement personnel; and school safety and security personnel.
