UF SIFE Team Named Regional Champions

Findlay, Ohio, April 1, 2004 – The University of Findlay’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team won the title of USA SIFE Regional Champions at a competition held in Chicago, Ill., earlier this week.

The team will go on to compete at the USA National Exposition in Kansas City, Mo., May 23-25. At that event, 180 teams from across the nation will compete, and the winner will advance to the World Cup in Barcelona, Spain.

SIFE is a non-profit organization active on more than 1,600 college and university campuses in 40 countries.

Members of the UF competition team were Bonnie Salinas of El Paso, Texas; Lindsey Karshner, of Ashville, Ohio; Rondi Niederkohr, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; Andy Kuhn of Bucyrus, Ohio; Johonna Snyder of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; and Matt Berberick of Republic, Ohio, who provided technical support. Additional SIFE team members include Angie Sinclair of Loveland, Ohio; Karen Ziegman and Kristen Gordon of Findlay; Erin Roark of Carey, Ohio; Rebecca Dennis of Peotone, Ill., Heather Karney of Wauseon, Ohio; Brandon Hollopeter of Medina, Ohio; Dan Smith of St. Marys, Ohio; and Paul Loera of Celina, Ohio.

Greg Arburn, Ph.D., assistant professor of economics and finance and SIFE adviser, and Doug Switzer, assistant professor of communication and a member of the Business Advisory Board, accompanied the students to the competition. Other members of the Business Advisory Board from the community who assisted the team in their preparation were Alec Reinhardt and Patty Lucas.
