Workplace Violence Expert to Speak at The Findlay Inn

Findlay, Ohio, Oct. 29, 2004 – Paul Viollis Sr., president of Risk Control Strategies and world-renowned workplace violence expert, will lead a seminar on how workplace violence impacts businesses and the communities that support them on Friday, Nov. 5, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Findlay Inn and Conference Center.

The seminar titled “Workforce Violence: How it affects your employees, your organization and your community,” is sponsored by The University of Findlay’s School of Environmental and Emergency Management, Private Wealth Consultants, Steyer Huber and Associates and the Findlay•Hancock County Chamber of Commerce.

According to the U.S. Labor Department, workplace fatalities in the United States are on the raise, with homicides being the third most common cause of death. In a recent Forbes article, Viollis is quoted as saying factors like stress and anxiety about layoffs, the transfer of jobs abroad and terrorist attacks are making the workplace more volatile.

Viollis has more than 23 years of experience in law enforcement and security, and he specializes in workplace violence behavioral analysis. He is a well-known public speaker and has served as an expert witness regarding workplace violence, workplace security and counter terrorism threat assessment. He has authored numerous books pertaining to avoiding violence in the workplace including Workplace Security, a Jane’s Publishing’s book.
