UF to Host Toledo Opera

Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 2, 2004 – The Toledo Opera will perform at The University of Findlay Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. as part of the University’s Concert and Lecture Series.

Sopranos Vanessa Conlin and Elizabeth Herlitz, mezzo-soprano Jessye Wright, tenor Matt Morgan, baritone Bradley Wisk and bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch, accompanied by pianist David Aro Zobel, will perform selections from several operas. The singers will explain opera basics and discuss the stories behind the songs.

Featured operas include Georges Bizet’s “Carmen” and “The Pearl Fishers,” Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème,” “Turandot” and “Gianni Schicci,” Wolfgang Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” Léo Delibes’ “Lakme,” Gioachino Rossini’s “L’italiana in Algeri” and Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto” and “La Traviata.”

The performance will take place in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Foundation Convocation Center, adjacent to campus.

Tickets are priced at $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $10 for students. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office at 419-434-5335.
