Poetry Reading Planned at UF

Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 4, 2004 — A poetry reading by Jeff Gundy will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 8 p.m. in the Endly Room, Alumni Memorial Union, at The University of Findlay.
Gundy, an English professor at Bluffton University, has received several honors and awards including five Ohio Arts Council fellowships, seven Pushcart Prize nominations and two C. Henry Smith Peace Lectureships. He has published various works including two nonfiction books and four full-length poetry collections. His latest collection, “Deerflies,” earned him the 2003 Editions Poetry Prize from WordTech Press.
Gundy’s poems and essays are published widely, and he has led numerous panels on Mennonite writings. He has held several workshops and readings at colleges and universities throughout the country.
The English program and the Convocations Committee will sponsor his reading at UF. A reception and book signing will follow the reading. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 419-434-4721.
