Friday, November 05, 2004

Findlay, Ohio, Nov. 5, 2004 – The University of Findlay will host two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows this weekend, with a hunt seat show at the James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and a western competition at the South Campus at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Riders from UF and seven other universities will compete in English-style riding and jumping at the Saturday show. Approximately 25 UF students will compete in the show. Riders will earn points for themselves and their teams through their ability to control the horses and their posture on the horses.

Sunday’s show will host 24 UF riders and students from eight visiting universities. Riders ranging from beginning to advanced levels of experience will be judged for their horsemanship.

The University will supply all the horses for the shows.

The public is welcome to attend both shows, and admission is free.
