UF Physical Therapy Professor Invited to Speak at National Professional Development Conference

February 10, 2005, Findlay, Ohio – Dr. Robert Frampton, director of The University of Findlay’s Physical Therapy Program, has been invited to present at the Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute’s 2005 Professional Development Days on February 19 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Frampton will lead a discussion on “The Ethical Dimension in Aquatic Rehabilitation.” “There are many ethical concerns that are a part of aquatic rehabilitation of patient,” Frampton explained. “The concerns run the gamut from appropriate physical contact in the pool to poor business practices that don’t have the patient’s best interest in mind.”
Frampton is an expert in the fields of healthcare ethics and cardiopulmonary physical therapy.
He has been appointed to the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board by Governor Bob Taft, and is a member of the Bioethics Network of Ohio and the American Physical Therapy Association.
He has been invited to give numerous presentations at conferences across the country on healthcare ethics, the end-of-life debate, and ethics and elderly care.
Frampton holds a doctorate of healthcare ethics from Duquesne University of the Holy Ghost, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a graduate certificate in bioethics from Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio; a master’s in physical therapy and a bachelor’s of health sciences from Duquesne University of the Holy Ghost.
