UF Physical Therapy Program Accepting Applications

Findlay, Ohio, Feb. 24, 2005 – The University of Findlay’s Physical Therapy Program is accepting applications for fall 2005.

Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, UF’s Physical Therapy Program offers students a master’s degree in physical therapy after completing three years of professional study.

Prerequisites for the program include two physics courses, two chemistry courses, two anatomy and physiology courses, biomechanics or kinesology, exercise physiology, statistics, medical terminology and three courses in psychology. Applicants also must hold an overall grade point average of 3.0, complete 100 hours of observation in two different clinical settings, and six of the nine required science courses must be completed at the time of application.

The University of Findlay’s Physical Therapy Program prepares ethical, entry-level practitioners who are prepared for the ever-changing health care environment. The program enables students to complete a master of physical therapy degree in six years, including three years of prerequisite coursework and three years of professional study. UF also offers a weekend program that is designed for licensed physical therapist assistants with completed baccalaureate degrees. Through the weekend program, students are able to earn a master of physical therapy degree after two and one-half years of graduate study.
