UF’s Equestrian Program to Hold Competition Sunday

Findlay, Ohio, Feb. 5, 2005 – The University of Findlay will host an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association show Sunday, Feb. 6, with a hunter seat show at the James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex beginning at 9 a.m.

Riders from UF and seven other universities will compete in English-style riding and jumping at the show. Approximately 22 UF students will compete in the show.

The University will supply all the horses for the competition.

The public is welcome to attend, and admission is free.

The University of Findlay offers majors in western and English equestrian studies leading to associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. A 73-acre farm provides space for the western riding and pre-veterinary medicine programs, while the 42-acre James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex is home to the English riding program and University Equine Veterinary Services, Inc. UF’s English and western riding teams both won national championships in 2001.

The James J. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex is just outside of Findlay at the corner of Olive St. and C.R. 201.
