Findlay, Ohio, March 16, 2005 – The University of Findlay’s Senior Forum, a six-week series of learning experiences for people age 50 and older, begins Wednesday, March 30 in the Alumni Memorial Union.
The forums, consisting of a variety of informative and entertaining sessions, take place each Wednesday through May 4. Three sessions take place each day, one in the morning, one at lunch and one in the afternoon. Some sessions form a series on a particular topic from week to week. However, all sessions stand alone.
The March 30 program will feature “What Does a City Engineer Do?” by Jacqueline Schroeder from 10:15-11:30 a.m. The session from noon to 1 p.m. will include “Outsourcing Jobs: U.S. Dilemma” by UF Associate Professor of Business Quentin Skrabec Jr. and the afternoon session from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. will feature “The Charm of the Dulcimer” by the Dulcimer Gathering.
Upcoming sessions include: “What You Need to Know about Drugs,” “U.S. Challenges in Iraq and the Muslim World” and “Form: a Musical Journey” on April 6; “The Importance of Volunteerism,” “Freshwater and Foreign Policy” and “A Musical Childhood” on April 13; “55 Alive: Drive Safely,” “Putin’s Second Term” and “Safe Violence: Stage Combat” on April 20; “This is the Blanchard Valley Center,” “The Wannsee Decision: Annihilate the Jews” and “An Afternoon of Piano and Vocal Music” on April 27; and “Crocodiles and More!,” “China: Economic Giant” and “Jacqueline Kennedy Presents” on May 4.
Prices for the complete, 18-session program are $60 for individuals or $105 for couples. Any series of six sessions is priced at $20 for individuals and $35 for couples. A day’s session or any three sessions are $10 for individuals and $17.50 for couples. The fee for any single session is $3.50 for individuals and $6 for couples.
A buffet lunch is available for an additional $5 per day, and a coffee/tea bar is provided all day at no charge.
