UF Psychology Conference Features ‘Living Legend’

Findlay, Ohio, March 16, 2005 – The University of Findlay’s Psychology Program will present its third annual Psychology Conference on Friday, April 1, in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion.

The conference will feature two presentations by Dr. Patricia Arredondo, who is recognized as a living legend by the American Counseling Association for her contributions to multicultural counseling. She is president-elect for the ACA.

Dr. Arredondo, associate vice president and senior adviser for Academic Initiatives and associate professor of counseling at Arizona State University, will discuss “Dealing with Organizational Responsibilities of Diversity and Multicultural Issues” from 9-10:30 a.m. She will present “APA Ethical Guidelines Related to Diversity and Multiculturalism” from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

The conference also will feature a poster session in which undergraduate psychology students from various area universities will present research projects. The poster session will take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., and a continental breakfast will be available until registration ends at 9 a.m.

Social workers and counselors attending may earn 2.5 contact hours in continuing education credits from The University of Findlay’s Social Work Program or Century Health Inc.
