Mazza Museum Hosting Summer Arts Camp
Tuesday, March 01, 2005

Findlay, Ohio, March 1, 2005 – The Mazza Museum at The University of Findlay is accepting registrations for its annual Summer Arts Camp.

During the camp, which runs July 18-22, children will create illustrations for their own books.

Each day of the camp, volunteer teachers will introduce a different art technique and different media to the campers. The children will then produce illustrations using the techniques learned each day. By the end of the week each camper will have a completed book inspired by art displayed in the museum.

The camp will take place in two sessions, in the mornings and afternoons. Children who will be in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades this fall will attend the morning session, from 9 a.m.-noon, while incoming first, second and third graders will go to camp in the afternoon session, from 1:30-4 p.m.

The week will conclude with a reception in which campers’ parents and friends are invited to view the campers’ books. The campers will sign their books during this time. Both camp sessions’ book signings will take place on July 22 from 1-2 p.m.

Camp costs are $100 for older students and $80 for younger students. Enrollment is limited to 40 children, 20 in each session. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis, depending upon receipt of the completed registration and payment.
