Animal Behaviorist to Discuss Dogs, Wolves

Findlay, Ohio, March 29, 2005 – Dr. Barbara Smuts, noted animal behaviorist and author of “Sex and Friendship in Baboons,” will discuss similarities in dog, wolf and human behavior at The University of Findlay on Monday, April 4 at 1 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union Multi-Purpose Room.

Smuts’ presentation, “Dogs, Wolves and Humans: Triads and Triangles in Nature,” is free and open to the public.

Smuts is a professor of biopsychology at the University of Michigan.

A panel discussion about Smuts’ research will follow at 2 p.m. Panelists include Smuts, wildlife biologist Dr. Tim Reichard, who has worked at the San Diego and Toledo zoos, and UF faculty members Dr. Jason Slone, Dr. Gwynne Rife and Anthony Wilgus.
