Findlay, Ohio, March 29, 2005 – The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present their annual spring concert on Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m. in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Foundation Convocation Center, adjacent to the UF campus.
The concert will feature the music of John Philip Sousa. In addition to Sousa’s marches, the bands will perform a symphony in three movements by Ira Hearshen based upon themes from Sousa’s most famous works.
Also, senior clarinetist Amanda Kurtz will play “Rondo,” from Mozart’s “Clarinet Concerto in A Major.”
Professor of Music and Director of Bands Jack Taylor will direct the concert.

About UF’s Music Program
The University has six performing musical groups – Marching/Pep Band, Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Concert-Chorale and University Singers.
UF offers a minor in musical arts, which requires 24 semester hours of coursework. Students may take classes in a variety of courses, including Music for the Primary Teacher, Elementary Music Theory, Rock Music Styles and private vocal and instrumental lessons.
