UF International Night is April 8
Friday, April 01, 2005

Findlay, Ohio, April 1, 2005 — The University of Findlay will host its 37th annual International Night on Friday, April 8, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

International Night is free and open to the public.

This year’s event is an opportunity for international UF students from 12 countries to share their food, history and culture. Display booths will give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the various countries represented on the UF campus.

Events will begin at 6 p.m. with an opening ceremony, including a parade of flags and an international fashion show.

The evening’s entertainment will be performed by students and includes Tae Kwon Do demonstrations and several traditional dances and songs from various countries.

In addition to providing entertainment, the students will share a taste of their countries by providing small samples of desserts and other treats.

A program for area elementary and middle school students will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. UF international students will teach the visiting children traditional world games, answer questions about their countries and provide entertainment.

The University of Findlay has established an International Student Scholarship Endowment Fund to assist undergraduate international students. In the evening items from all over the world will be on sale at the international market, and all proceeds will benefit the International Student Scholarship.

The Mazza Museum will also be selling items on International Night to help raise money for the scholarship. The museum will be donating 10 percent of the night’s sales to the scholarship fund.
