UF Commencement is April 30

Findlay, Ohio, April 25, 2005 – More than 800 students will graduate from The University of Findlay during spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. in the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

A total of 354 graduate degrees will be awarded. These include 119 master of business administration degrees; 85 master of arts in education degrees; 37 master of physical therapy degrees; 18 master of science in environmental, safety and health management degrees; 20 master of arts in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) and bilingual education degrees; 16 master of occupational therapy degrees; seven master of arts in liberal studies degrees; and one master of athletic training degree.

A total of 592 undergraduate degrees will be conferred, including 437 bachelor of science degrees; 110 bachelor of arts degrees; 34 bachelor of science in business management degrees; nine bachelor of science in environmental management degrees; two bachelor of science in criminal justice degrees; and 83 associate of arts degrees.

Among the graduates are 101 international students, representing 18 countries.

The class of 2005 also includes the University’s largest group of Honors Scholars. Seven students will graduate as Honors Scholars, an honor they earn by being an active member of the University Honors Program, maintaining a minimum 3.5 grade point average, completing an independent senior research project and earning 28 hours of honors credit.

Congressman Michael Oxley, of Findlay, will be the commencement speaker.
