Exhibition Features UF Students’ Art

Findlay, Ohio, April 6, 2005 – The University of Findlay’s Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition will be on display in the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery in the Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion through April 22. The gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Gary Wells, an art teacher at Ada High School in Ada, Ohio, and a 1994 UF graduate, served as judge for the exhibition.

An untitled painting by Sung Soo Song was named best in show. Other prize winners included Katy McCurdy, first award for painting for “Ohio,” honorable mention for painting for “Garden Study” and honorable mention for printmaking for “Flora;” Jong Ho Park, first award for drawing for “Desperado;” Kelly Wells, first award for printmaking for an untitled work; David Weinandy, first award for ceramics for “Ash Jug” and honorable mention for ceramics for “Gator Bird Bath;” Sara Kear, first award for design for “Vegetable Design;” Julie Kafun, honorable mention for design for an untitled work; Laura Beach, first award for photography for “Staircase to Nowhere #1;” Adam Wright, honorable mention for photography for “Study of Lines #4;” Trevor Kovacs, honorable mention for photography for “Roughnecks;” and Martina Rostorfer, first award for computer design for “Creative Review.”
