Aug. 25, 2005, Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay has appointed two senior faculty members to serve as deans of two of the University’s five academic colleges.
Dr. Luke Bartolomeo will serve as dean of the College of Business, and Dr. Marie Louden-Hanes will serve as dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Both will serve in those positions until national searches for long-term deans for the positions have been completed.
Dr. Dan May, vice president for academic affairs, said the searches for new long-term leadership for the College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts reflects the University’s position as an increasingly comprehensive institution, with the most diverse graduate and professional programming found among private universities in the region.
Bartolomeo is an experienced dean, serving as dean of the College of Science from 1994-2004. According to May, he is dedicated to the University, and is committed to meeting student needs for high quality professional education. Prior to his appointment, Bartolomeo served as a professor of chemistry. He has taught chemistry at UF since 1976. He chaired the Division of Natural Science from 1980-88 and 1992-94. He holds a Ph.D. and master’s degrees from Bowling Green State University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Findlay College.
Louden-Hanes is an experienced and successful administrator who is dedicated both to the University and the liberal arts. Prior to her appointment, she served as assistant vice president for academic enhancement. She has been a professor of art at UF since 1986. She holds a Ph.D., a master of arts degree in art, and a bachelor of fine arts degree in art education from Bowling Green State University.
