Friday, September 16, 2005
Sept. 16, 2005, Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay’s Village Café will open for the fall semester Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The Village Café, which is located in The University of Findlay Village, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $8.00.
The facility utilizes students from three classes in the University’s Hospitality Management Program to create a dining experience for patrons. The beginning class learns the fundamentals of dining room management and acts as the servers for the meal. The second class, learning to cook in large quantities, prepares the food. The third class acts as managers of the facility. Each meal is managed by a student in the third class. The dining room serves as a hands-on classroom for those in the hospitality management program at UF.
A different theme will be featured each day the Village Café is open. The theme for the Sept. 20 lunch will be “Healthy Food with a Sinful Ending.” Other themes for this semester include: “Taste of the World,” “An Afternoon in Rome,” “Viva Espana” and “Home for the Holidays.” Menus can be accessed via the University’s website at www.findlay.edu/offices/villagecafe.
Reservations are required prior to the meal and can be made by calling 419-434-4097 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. When making a reservation, leave a name, phone number, number in the party and any special requests.
