Celebrity Art Auction to Be Held

Findlay, Ohio – An art auction featuring more than 130 pieces of
original artwork will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 in The University of
Findlay’s Alumni Memorial Union. The oral auction and the silent
auction will begin at 6 p.m., the doors open at 5 p.m. Absentee ballots
are available.
The auction features watercolor, pen and ink, mixed media and acrylic
pieces created and donated by many of the artists who support the
University’s Mazza Museum.
The artists include:

Norman Bridwell – the artist of the popular Clifford the Dog book
series. His pieces include: “Clifford and Girl,” a felt-pen drawing
signed by Bridwell; and a felt-pen drawing, “Clifford as a Puppy.”

Alexandra Day – the artist of the popular Carl book
series. She contributed a watercolor and oil painting featuring
Carl in daycare.
- Ted Rand – he contributed watercolors from
“Fighting for the Forest,” “The Sun, the Wind and the Rain” and “Night
Tree.”
- Victoria Raymond – she contributed a polymer clay from “Still-Life Stew.”
- Steven Kellogg – he contributed a watercolor and pen and ink from “Harcourt Brace Reading 2000.”
- Iza Trapani – he contributed a watercolor from
“Tracey’s Mess,” a preliminary watercolor and two graphite sketches
from “Jingle Bells.”
The funds raised during the auction will be used to benefit the Mazza
Museum building addition. Located in the Virginia B.
Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion on the UF campus, the museum is raising $2.2 million
for an 11,000-square-foot addition. The addition will provide
more space for educational programs and for the preservation and
protection of the museum's artworks. Completion of the addition is
scheduled for 2007.
