Broadway Star to Perform Jan. 29

Findlay, Ohio – Liz Callaway, an accomplished Broadway star and the
singing voice of Anastasia in the animated movie by the same name, will
perform Sunday, Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. at the Winebrenner Theological
Seminary’s TLB Auditorium, adjacent to The University of Findlay campus.
Callaway will be accompanied by conductor, pianist and Broadway
musical-theatre veteran Phil Reno on the piano. Reno is currently
conducting the Broadway production of “The Producers,” which won a
record 12 Tony awards when it opened in 2001.
Callaway’s long list of singing and acting credits include appearing on
Broadway in “Merrily We Roll Along;” “Baby,” for which she earned a
Tony nomination; “The Three Musketeers;” “Miss Saigon;” “The Look of
Love;” and “Cats,” where she played the role of Gizabella for five
years.
She has starred in numerous off-Broadway musicals and revues, as well
as the internationally acclaimed cabaret “Sibling Revelry.” Callaway
has been in many film and television shows, including as the singing
voice of the Swan Princess in the animated feature “The Swan Princess,”
and as the singing voice of Kiara in the animated movie “Lion King II:
Simba’s Pride.” Her voice also can be heard on more than 30 albums,
including three solo recordings.
In addition to her performance, Callaway will conduct a master’s class
for UF music theatre students on Monday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. in the
John and Hester Powell-Grimm Theatre. The master’s class is free and
open to the public.
Tickets for her Jan. 29 performance are $10 for adults, $6 for students
and seniors, and free for UF faculty, staff and students.
