UF Celebrates Black History Month

Findlay, Ohio — The University of Findlay is recognizing February as
Black History Month by offering students a series of intercultural
events on campus.
The events include:
- Saturday, Feb. 11, 8-10 p.m. -
Gospel Showcase featuring K Drama and the Christ Temple Youth Choir,
Winebrenner TLB Foundation Convocation Center, co-sponsored by the
Black Student Union (BSU) and the College Democrats.
- Wednesday, Feb. 15, 5-7 p.m. - Soul Food Dinner, Henderson Dining Hall, hosted by Sodexho, Intercultural Student Services (ISS) and BSU.
- Saturday, Feb. 18, 9 p.m.
- The Ninth Annual Black Tie Affair Red Carpet Event, AMU Multipurpose
Room, hosted by BSU and sponsored by the Student Government Association
(SGA).
- Sunday, Feb. 19, 8 p.m. - Spring Break Fashion Show, AMU Multipurpose Room, hosted by Residence Life and BSU, sponsored by SGA.
- Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7 p.m.
- “Freedom is a Constant Struggle - The Albany Civil Rights Movement,”
AMU Endly Room, presented by Dr. Mary Sterner Lawson, author of “June
Bug’s Grocery and the Cornfield Jook: A South Albany Oral History.”
Lawson played a key role in the opening of the Albany Civil Rights
Movement Museum in Albany, Ga. The talk is presented by ISS.
- Wednesday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. - “Guess Who” movie presentation at the Cave, presented by ISS.
- Thursday, Feb. 23, 7 p.m. - “Save the Last Dance” movie presentation at the Cave, presented by ISS.
- Tuesday, Feb. 28, 11 a.m.
- Coffee House series flautist Galen and band, sponsored by the Campus
Program Board (CPB), ISS and Student Activities and Commuter Services.
