“Bells Are Ringing” to Open Feb. 22

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay’s theatre and music programs
will take audiences back to a time before answering machines with the
musical “Bells Are Ringing” at 8 p.m. Feb. 22-26 at the John and Hester
Powell-Grimm Theatre.
“Bells Are Ringing,” with music by Jule Styne and book and lyrics by
Betty Comden and Adolph Green, is being produced by Dr. Micheal F.
Anders, UF director of choral activities and professor of music. Anders
also is serving as the musical director, and Vicki McClurkin, UF
adjunct theatre professor, is serving as stage director for the
production.
The musical is set in a time when an operator answered the telephone if
someone else couldn’t. The production tells the tale of how the lines
are blurred between doing a job and eavesdropping.
The uplifting musical numbers include “Just in Time,” “The Party’s Over” and “Long Before I Knew You.”
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and free to UF
