Young Artists and Authors Conference set for March 18

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay will host the 2006 Young
Artists and Authors Conference “Over in the Ocean” from 8:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Mazza Museum on the UF
campus.
More than 150 local third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students who have
written and illustrated their own books at home or in a school
book-making program will attend the conference.
Students will hear a presentation given by Jeanette Canyon, illustrator
of “Over in the Ocean: In a Coral Reef.” Students may purchase Canyon’s
book during an autograph session.
Students will also have the opportunity to share their own books in the
Mazza Museum and attend a sing-along. During the sing-along, guest
guitarist Dustin Neal will teach students the lyrics and hand motions
to the 11 verses of “Over in the Ocean.”
