UF to Host Fear Factor 2006 Competition

Findlay, Ohio — Groups from area high schools, the Findlay community
and The University of Findlay will test their mental, physical and
emotional abilities in UF’s Fear Factor 2006 competition on Saturday,
April 22.
During Fear Factor, which begins at 9 a.m., co-ed teams of six people
will participate in events such as the Buddy Swim, in which competitors
swim a relay race while holding onto a greased watermelon; Tunnel of
Fear, in which players will crawl through a black, 70-foot tunnel while
wearing safety gear; and Computer Whiz, in which teams have a short
time to correctly program computers.
The event will culminate with a barbecue and awards presentation at 5
p.m. at the Koehler Complex. Awards will be given for the best overall
team within each category, and individual awards will be given for each
event. Prizes include a trophy for the first-place winners and
certificates for one free training course from UF’s School of
Environmental and Emergency Management.
Organized by the Oiler Environmental, Safety and Health Organization,
the event is free for all participants and is designed to present a
series of challenges that will test the participants.
