UF Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble to Play Sunday

The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will present
their annual spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the
Winebrenner Theological Seminary TLB Convocation Center, adjacent to
the UF campus.
Under the direction of Jack Taylor, UF professor of music and director
of bands, the Wind Ensemble will perform “La Fiesta Mexicana,” a
Mexican folk song symphony for band and “Selections from Phantom of the
Opera.” Next, the Symphonic Band will feature senior trumpeter
Christy Hill from Arlington on Clarke’s “The Debutante” and then will
play “The Odyssey,” a symphony by Robert W. Smith that tells the story
of Odysseus and his adventures.
The bands will join forces to end the concert with an aggressive
symphony for band titled “Slavyanskaya,” by Boris Kozhevnikov.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students. For tickets
