Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay will host a seminar on
“Entrepreneur Leadership” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in the Ritz
Auditorium.
Dr. Shiv Gupta, professor of marketing and economics, and Dr. John M.
Wolper, director of hospitality management and associate professor of
business, will give presentations during the seminar. Gupta will speak
on “Entrepreneur Leadership,” and Wolper will speak on “Success Before
and After Graduation.”
Gupta’s presentation will be based on American management writer Peter
Drucker’s statement, “Take an ordinary man and make him do
extraordinary things.” According to Gupta, entrepreneurship is a
concept that is applicable to everyone who works for a living.
Gupta, who has taught at UF for 35 years, holds an MBA in management
and a doctorate in marketing. Before teaching, Gupta had 15 years of
experience working as vice president of merchandising for the Federal
Government Co-op Department Stores. He also is the publisher of three
books.
Wolper’s presentation focused on what students need to do before they
graduate and what corporations or companies are truly seeking in their
employees.
Since joining UF in 2001, Wolper has helped establish UF’s flourishing
Hospitality Management Program. With 32 years of professional
experience in the hospitality management field, he has served many
distinguished guests including former president Ronald Regan.
Prior to joining UF, Wolper was a professor at Mercyhurst College,
where he built the hospitality management program to be one of the best
in the nation.
