Summer vacation began on May 4 for many traditional students at The University of
Findlay. However, unlike its students, the University will not
be slowing down.
As students depart the Findlay campus for summer break, it comes alive
with a new focus: entertaining over 4,100 people in more than 50
camps, conferences, clinics and practices scheduled at the University
throughout the summer months.
Aside from the 20 University of Findlay athletic camps, other events
include the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) camp, the American
Youth Basketball Tour (AYBT), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, two
editions of CSI: Findlay, a forensic science camp, and Ohio Business
Week, to name a few.
“We welcome the chance to serve these people and to showcase our campus
and community,” says Sandy Saunders, director of facilities scheduling
and events. Saunders also explains that summer events provide The
University of Findlay an opportunity to bring in prospective UF
students and gain a little extra revenue.
UF does its best to try to meet the needs of every event, although scheduling conflicts do arise.
