UF Increases Student Housing for Fall
Friday, July 28, 2006
The University of Findlay is increasing the number of student housing
spaces to accommodate more than 100 additional students who want to
live on campus in the fall.
The increased campus housing will be from utilization of the second
floor of Myers residence hall which previously has been used for
offices, conversion of 14 University-owned houses on the perimeter of
the campus to student housing, and more effective utilization of space
within 12 major residence halls.
In addition to increased on-campus housing, an estimated 75 to 100 more
students than last fall will live off campus, primarily in the Findlay
area.
David Emsweller, vice president for student services, said, “We are
pleased that more students want to live on campus, and we want to
accommodate them. The need for more housing results from more returning
students signing up for housing for the fall and the increased number
of new students who are seeking campus housing. The new housing to
which the students will be assigned will be comparable to our
traditional residence halls. We expect to start the year with about
1,350 students living on campus compared to about 1,200 last year.”
The University of Findlay is a comprehensive university located in
