Faculty, staff and students from The University of Findlay and
Winebrenner Theological Seminary (WTS) volunteered their time and labor
to benefit the community during Beth Heck Days of Caring Thursday,
Sept. 21, and Friday, Sept. 22.
At 8 a.m. Sept. 21, approximately 75 UF and WTS
volunteers gathered at the Agency on Aging for a brief welcome and
introduction to the project. From there, groups were sent into the
community to paint garages and eaves at the homes of elderly community
members.
Students from two First-Year Experience classes and an occupational therapy class were among the volunteers.
“Days of Caring has become a service tradition at The University of
Findlay. Each year students, faculty, and staff from The
University of Findlay and Winebrenner Theological Seminary participate
in this community-wide service project,” said Crystal Jones, UF Campus
Compact coordinator. “Every year, we partner with the Agency on
Aging to improve the homes and lives of local senior citizens. The
University of Findlay is proud of its students, faculty and staff’s
ongoing commitment to provide help and hope to our community through
this project.”
The Beth Heck Days of Caring is two days of service when hundreds of
volunteers from local companies and organizations make a difference at
local agencies, schools, and in the lives of students and clients by
completing much-needed projects.
Last year, 72 UF and WTS faculty, staff and students participated in Days of Caring.
