The University of Findlay Names Homecoming Court

The University of Findlay has named its 2006 Homecoming court and will
announce the Homecoming king and queen during halftime of the Saginaw
Valley State vs. UF football game at Donnell Stadium, which begins at 4
p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7.

The 2006 Homecoming Court includes the following students:
• Bryson Stair, senior occupational therapy major of Utica, Ohio.
• Braden Kriegel, senior occupational therapy major of Delphos, Ohio.
• Jacob Hasselbach, senior marketing major of Fremont, Ohio.
• Kimberly Jackson, senior social work major of Lima, Ohio.
• Stephanie Myers, senior early childhood education major of McComb, Ohio.
• Nicole Milligan, senior pre-veterinary major of Kittanning, Pa.
• Nicole Wagner, senior middle childhood education major of Defiance, Ohio.
• Jenna Wasserman, senior law and the liberal arts major of South Charleston, Ohio.
The theme for this year’s festivities is “Let Your Oiler Pride Flow.”
Other Homecoming weekend activities include:
• Theatre Performance: “Proof,” Wednesday, Oct. 4–7,
at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. in the John and Hester Powell
Grimm Theatre. Admission: $5 for general admission and $3 for students.
• Campus Tours, Friday, Oct. 6, at 1 and 3 p.m.
beginning at Morey Hall – Staff will provide campus tours for all
alumni and prospective students.
• Environmental Facilities Open House, Friday, Oct.
6, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Environmental Resource Training Center on
State Route 12 East – Tour the facilities and enjoy a barbecue.
• Distinguished Alumni, Hall of Fame and Shiv K.
Gupta Recognition Dinner, Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Alumni
Memorial Union – This special dinner recognizes award winners and
Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. In addition, a special scholarship
announcement honoring Shiv Gupta will take place. Admission:

• Mike Super Live, Friday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. in
Winebrenner Seminary – Enjoy a night of magic and illusion for all

• 5K Run and Little Oiler Fun Run, Saturday, Oct. 7,
at 8:30 a.m. beginning in front of Old Main – All proceeds from the
event will benefit the Findlay City Mission. Entry fee for the 5K
Run: $20. Participation in the Little Oiler Fun Run is free. To

• Alumni Association Annual Breakfast, Saturday, Oct.
7, at 8:30 a.m. in the Lape Great Hall – Alumni from all over the
nation are invited to visit with each other and congratulate the 2006
Distinguished Alumni. A golden diploma ceremony will take place
to recognize the class of ’56. Admission: $10 for each adult, $5
for children age 5 to 12 and free for children under 5. Registration

• Alumni Baseball Game, Saturday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m.
at Swale Park – Join UF alumni for the second annual 100-inning game.

• Dedication of Oil Derrick and Fountain, Saturday,
Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. on the northwest side of Croy Gymnasium – The oil
derrick and fountain will be presented to the University by the classes
of 1956 and 2006.
• Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Saturday,
Oct. 7, at 11:30 a.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union – The 33rd annual
induction ceremony will honor six former UF athletes. Admission:

• Golf Cart Parade, Saturday, Oct. 7, at 12:30 p.m.
in the circle drive on the front lawn – Students will decorate golf
carts and bring the Homecoming theme to life using costumes,
originality and creativity. The Oiler brass band will lead the parade,
followed by the UF cheerleaders and dance team. Tours of campus will be
given after the parade.
• Marching Band and Oiler Brass Reunion, Saturday,
Oct. 7, at 12:30 p.m. on the front lawn of Old Main – Alumni are
welcome to participate in the golf cart parade. Afterward, enjoy some
food and catch up with other alumni at Donnell Stadium during the

• Class Reunions and Greek Reunion, Saturday, Oct. 7,
from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the front lawn of Old Main – Gather to meet
your classmates or reunite with your Greek family. Classes included in
the reunion are ’36, ’41, ’46, ’51, ’56, ’61, ’66, ’71, ’76, ’81, ’86,
’91, ’96 and 2001.
• KidsZone, Saturday, Oct. 7, from 11:30 a.m. – 2
p.m. on the front lawn of Old Main – Children will love hot dogs,
popcorn, snowcones, face painting, crafts and painting artwork on a
canvas. Inflatables include: five-person climbing wall, football
field-n-goal challenge, obstacle course and Island Paradise bounce.
• Create-a-Cookie Recipe Contest, Saturday, Oct. 7,
from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the front lawn of Old Main – Current
students will bake their favorite cookie. Alumni, students and guests
will taste and vote on their favorite. $1 per vote.
• Alumni Tailgate Party with Faculty and Staff,
Saturday, Oct. 7, from 2:30 – 4 p.m. at Donnell Stadium, north lawn –
Enjoy a pre-game picnic. Admission: $7.50 for each adult, $4 for each
child age 3-12, includes ticket to the football game. Registration

• Saginaw Valley State vs. The University of Findlay,
Saturday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. in Donnell stadium – Come dressed in orange
and black and watch for the judges voting on alumna/alumnus and student
displaying the most UF spirit. Prizes will be awarded. The Homecoming
king and queen will be announced, as well as the winners of the banner
and golf cart decorating contests. From 4 - 7 p.m., Louis Paul, balloon
man, and Mike Da Roving Guy will be in the tunnel making balloon
creations.
• Class of 1956 Reunion Dinner, Saturday, Oct. 7, at
7 p.m. at the Findlay Country Club – Members of the class of 1956 and
their guests are invited to attend this special dinner. Registration

• Environmental 20th Anniversary Celebration,
Saturday, Oct. 7, from 6 – 11 p.m. at the Findlay Inn and Conference
Center – Join faculty and staff for a casual anniversary dinner.
