The auction for the signed Celtics basketball will
take place through eBay Oct. 8 through Oct. 14, and the autographed
poster auction will take place Oct. 22 through Oct. 28. A link to the
auction on eBay’s website can be found on the College of Business
website only on auction days. Go to www.findlay.edu and use KEYWORD:
business. Look for the “Bid on a Bit o’Luck” section. The starting bid
for each item is $30.
Half of the proceeds from each of the two auctions
will be given to the UF College of Business to assist students in
attending a national marketing conference, and the other half will be
used for Marketing Club projects. Current projects include working with
the Small Business Development Center of Ohio to develop marketing
plans for real businesses and working with the Small Business
Association to assist entrepreneurs in developing marketing plans for
new products and ideas.
The mission of the Marketing Club is to advance the
ethical practice and art of marketing through information, education,
relationships and resources that will enrich professional development
and careers.
Both of the items being placed in the auction were
generously donated by the Boston Celtics. The group does not normally
donate items such as this to organizations outside of the New England
area. Senior business major Erica Rife, president of the Marketing
Club, worked as a media relations intern for the Boston Celtics during
summer 2006 and established a positive relationship between UF and the
Boston Celtics organization.
Contact Rife with additional questions about the auction at rifee@findlay.edu.
