Lighting for Video Conferencing to be Discussed at UF
Tuesday, November 14, 2006
A study on lighting will be the subject of a presentation by The
University of Findlay’s William Carter, Ph.D., associate professor of
environmental management and director of graduate, undergraduate and
degree completion in environmental, safety and occupational health, and
Shandip K.C., graduate assistant, at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in
Malcolm Lecture Hall in Frost Science Center.
“Designing Lighting for Video Conferencing” is the
second presentation in a lecture series sponsored by the College of
Science. The presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments
will be served.
Carter and Shandip will present the findings of an
investigation that has been partially funded by the Illuminating
Engineering Society. The purpose of the study is to determine the
recommended range of lighting to be used in video conferencing or
distance education. The results of the study will be incorporated into
writing specifications for lighting in video conferencing. The audience
will participate in the ongoing experiment.
The types of parameters that affect viewing of an instructional situation also will be discussed.
