Sixth Annual Deck the Trees Nov. 30
Monday, November 27, 2006

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host the Sixth Annual Deck the Trees on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Alumni Memorial Union.

Twenty-five UF student organizations will decorate trees from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday. At 11:30 a.m., judges will evaluate the trees, choosing best of show, most creative and best representation of theme for cash prizes up to $100.

Tony Iriti, mayor of the city of Findlay, Marie Louden-Hanes, Ph.D., director of undergraduate education, and Brian Treece, assistant dean of students, will serve as judges for the event.

Event festivities run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include cookie decorating, winter hat giveaways, pictures with Santa, Christmas carols, games and prizes.
UF’s radio station, WLFC 88.3, will be on site conducting a live broadcast. The display of decorated trees will remain open through Dec. 7.

Deck the Trees is hosted by UF’s PRSSA and funded by the Student Government Association.
