Sixth Annual Deck the Trees Nov. 30

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host the
Sixth Annual Deck the Trees on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Alumni
Memorial Union.
Twenty-five UF student organizations will decorate
trees from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday. At 11:30 a.m., judges will evaluate
the trees, choosing best of show, most creative and best representation
of theme for cash prizes up to $100.
Tony Iriti, mayor of the city of Findlay, Marie Louden-Hanes, Ph.D.,
director of undergraduate education, and Brian Treece, assistant dean
of students, will serve as judges for the event.
Event festivities run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include cookie
decorating, winter hat giveaways, pictures with Santa, Christmas
carols, games and prizes.
UF’s radio station, WLFC 88.3, will be on site conducting a live
broadcast. The display of decorated trees will remain open through Dec.
7.
Deck the Trees is hosted by UF’s PRSSA and funded by the Student Government Association.
