UF Professor to Host Trip to India

Experience the Indian culture, visit St. Thomas Mount and San Thome
Basilica and shop in Chennai as part of The University of Findlay’s
India Study Abroad Program June 4-15, 2007. Open to community members,
as well as to UF faculty, staff and students, this once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity will allow participants to further their professional
development and take advantage of a unique cross-cultural experience.
Organized by Dr. Nabarun Ghose, professor of
marketing and business, the tour will begin with a stop in Chennai,
India, a city rich in economics, industry, education, history and
culture and home to Tamil Cinema, more commonly known as Kollywood.
Visitors to Chennai will attended a lecture and guided tour of
Dakshinachitra, San Thome Basilica and St. Thomas Mount, followed by
shopping in the city famous for its silks, paintings, carvings and
modern shopping malls.
Other highlights of the trip include lectures and
guided tours of Tata Consultancy Services, the multi-specialty Lifeline
Rigid Hospital, Larsen and Toubro Infotech Limited and other successful
companies known around the globe. Learn about India’s school system
during visits to Kumararani Meena Muthiah Matriculation Higher
Secondary School and the Indian Institute of Technology.
There will be opportunities to network with leading experts in a
variety of fields. Participants also will have time to relax at Ideal
Beach Resort, enjoy local cuisine and experience the Indian culture.
