Concert-Chorale, Anders Celebrate 25 Years of Choral Music at UF

Under the direction of Micheal F. Anders, Ph.D., who is celebrating his
25th year in music at UF, The University of Findlay Concert-Chorale
will present “The Silver Concert: Celebrating 25 Years of Choral Music
at UF” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, in Winebrenner Seminary.
The 50-voice Concert-Chorale will present a sample
of choral music performed at UF since 1981. The performance will be
divided into four parts: choral masterworks, sacred choral music,
popular music and holiday music. Selections will include music from
composers such as Bach, Handel, Mozart, Faure, Britten, Rutter,
Gershwin and Puccini. Other pieces will include “Moses” by Ken
Medema, highlights from “A Chorus Line” and Cole Porter’s classic
“Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye.”
Several student soloists will perform. Sophomore
Nicole Ickes, soprano; senior January Blank, mezzo-soprano; sophomore
Derin Tolu, tenor; and junior James Stephani, bass, will be featured
during “Gloria in Excelsis Deo.” Sophomore Jeremy Stewart, tenor, and
Kirk Schnipke, baritone, will sing during “Agnus Dei.” Jim Conley,
baritone, will be the soloist for “Gesu Bambino.” Jeff Opperman, tenor,
will sing a solo during “The Jolly Tar and the Milkmaid.”
Sharon Vaas, choir accompanist, will play the piano for the group.
