Stratford Festival Actor to Visit UF Campus
Monday, January 29, 2007

Tony award winner Brian Bedford will visit The University of Findlay Feb. 6-7 as the fourth recipient of the Don and Barb Hennigs Chair for Theatre Guest Artists. At 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, Bedford will give a public interview and question-and-answer session in the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre.

During his visit, Bedford will speak with University classes and be the guest of honor at a reception while interacting with University theatre students, faculty and staff.

Bedford, one of the most acclaimed classical actors of our time, has been involved with the Stratford Festival of Canada for more than 25 years, and has starred in more than 20 Broadway productions, receiving five Tony nominations for best actor, and winning the award for Moliére’s “The School for Wives.” Other honors include the Drama Desk Award, Obie and Outer Circle Critics Award and Los Angeles Drama Critics Award.

Bedford has directed and acted at various theatres around the country and has performed his one-man show, “The Lunatic, the Lover and the Poet,” which has taken him across the world. He may be, however, more commonly known for his film and television roles in “Fraiser,” “Cheers” and the voice of the title character in Walt Disney’s “Robin Hood.”

Tickets for Bedford’s public interview are free, but must be reserved in advance by calling the Box Office at 419-434-5335.
