UF’s Faculty Roundtable to Discuss the New American Populism

The University of Findlay’s Faculty Roundtable will meet at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in the Rosewood Room, located in Deming Residence Hall on Frazer Street.

The topic of discussion will focus on what some observers have called the New American Populism. Articles addressing the topic include “Plutocrats of the People: Why are America’s Supperrich Fretting About Income Inequality” by Daniel Gross (Slate), “Looking for the Angry Populists of Suburbia” by David Leonhardt (New York Times) and “Mad as Hell: Lou Dobbs’ Populist Crusade” by Ken Auletta (New Yorker). All articles can be found online. Walter Benn Michaels’ new book “The Trouble with Diversity: How We Learned to Love Identity and Ignore Inequality” and William Domhoff’s book “Who Rules America” also will be discussed.
