Faculty Promotion and Tenure Announced

The University of Findlay Board of Trustees approved four faculty members for promotion during the recent board meeting.

The following faculty members have been promoted from associate to full professor:

William Carter, professor of environmental, safety and health management. Carter holds a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Syracuse University and an A.B. in chemistry from Williams College.

Gwynne Rife, professor of biology. Rife holds a Ph.D. in biological sciences from Bowling Green State University (BGSU), an M.A.T. in science education from BGSU, an M.S. in marine science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a B.S. in biology from BGSU.

The following faculty members have been promoted from assistant to associate professor:

Christine Tulley, associate professor of English. Tulley holds a Ph.D. in English from Bowling Green State University (BGSU), an M.A. in English from Cleveland State University and a B.S. in education from BGSU.

Kerry Volansky, associate professor of physical therapy. Volansky holds a D.Sc. in orthopedics from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, an M.B.A in executive health care from Baldwin-Wallace College and a B.S. in physical therapy from Bowling Green State University.

The following faculty members have been approved for tenure:

Greg Arburn, director of finance, economics and SIFE, assistant professor of economics and finance and Investments Club adviser. Arburn holds a Ph.D. in applied economics from Clemson University, an M.S. in agricultural economics from Clemson University and a B.S. in agricultural economics from Purdue University.

Judith Lanzendorfer, assistant professor of English. Lanzendorfer holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Arizona State University, an M.A. in English literature from Arizona State University and a B.A. in English literature from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

John Leach, director of master of arts in liberal arts and assistant professor of psychology. Leach holds a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Bowling Green State University (BGSU), an M.A. in experimental psychology from BGSU and a B.A. in psychology from The University of Findlay.

Chris Moser, director of human resource development strand and assistant professor of education. Moser holds an Ed.D. in human resource development, an M.A. in adult education, an M.A. in health science and a B.S. in health science from Ball State University.

Tim Murphy, associate professor of environmental, safety and health management. Murphy holds a Ph.D. in environmental science from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in environmental management from The University of Findlay and a B.S. in environmental health from Ferris State College.

Laura Schmelzer, assistant professor of occupational therapy. Schmelzer is in the process of completing a Ph.D. in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She holds an M.O.T. in occupational therapy from Chatham College and a B.A. in psychology from Capital University.

Christine Tulley (also promoted).

Sharon Walsh, assistant program director for physical therapy. Walsh is in the process of completing a D.Sc. in neurology from Rocky Mountain University. She holds an M.A. in special education from Walsh College and a B.S. in allied health from The Ohio State University.

Jean Weaver, assistant professor of physical therapy. Weaver is in the process of completing a Ph.D. in public health from the Nova Southeastern University. She holds an M.B.A in health care from The University of Findlay and a B.S. in allied health professions from The Ohio State University.
