UF to Hold 20th Annual Mathematics Day

The University of Findlay will offer two presentations by Dan Pritikin, Ph.D., professor of mathematics and statistics at Miami University, as part of UF’s annual Mathematics Day Thursday, March 15, in the Alumni Memorial Union Multipurpose Room.

At 10 a.m. Pritikin will present “Are Coins and Dice Miami’s Vice?”

The 1 p.m. presentation by Pritikin is “Too Many Kings & There Goes the Neighborhood.”

Pritikin has taught at Miami University since 1984. He earned his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pomona College. Pritikin is active in mathematics contests and coaches Miami’s Putnam Competition. He also writes for the Ohio High School Mathematics Invitational Olympiad held by the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) and does research in graph theory and combinatorics.
