| The University of Findlay’s Campus Program Board (CPB) is sponsoring a domestic violence lecture by Teri Jendusa Nicolai, a woman who has been a victim of spousal abuse, at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU) Multi-Purpose Room. During the winter of 2004, Nicolai was beaten with a baseball bat by her ex-husband, placed in a garbage can and put on the flatbed of his pick-up truck with their two little girls sitting in the front seat. She was placed in a storage locker and left for dead. Miraculously she survived, but she lost all of her toes to frostbite and lost her unborn baby with her second husband from her injuries. Nicolai now speaks to law enforcement agencies, middle schools, high schools, colleges and shelters. She hopes that by sharing her experience and the signs of domestic abuse that she can save someone else from this tragedy. There will be a reception for Nicolai before the lecture from 7-8 p.m. in the AMU Atrium, and it is open to everyone. The domestic violence lecture sponsored by CPB and funded by the Student Government Association, is a passport event. The presentation is free for UF faculty, staff and students. Community members will be charged $1, which will cover both the reception and lecture. For more information on the event please contact the Office of Student Activities – Commuter Student Services Office at 419-434-4606 or at studentactivities@findlay.edu.
