The University of Findlay to Host Physical Therapy Research Forum
Tuesday, March 27, 2007

The physical therapy class of 2007, as well as several athletic training students, will host a spring Research Forum at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU).

Student poster presentations will begin at 4 p.m. in the AMU Multipurpose Room. At 5:15 p.m., keynote speaker Chris Chimenti, MSPT, will present “Physical Therapy in Home Health vs. Inpatient Skilled Nursing Following Total Knee Replacement Surgery: A Performance Improvement Study.” Chimenti serves as chair of the research committee for the Home Health section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

At 6:15 p.m., students will present their platform presentations.

The forum provides an opportunity for students to present summaries of their scholarly activities to peers and to the community. It also provides a way to recognize the importance of research in physical therapy and athletic training. The forum provides a setting similar to regional and national professional meetings, allowing students to gain experience in the research and presentation portion of the career.

The forum is held in conjunction with the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Northwest District meeting.
