UF to Host Vietnamese Cultural Speaker

The University of Findlay will host Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh from 7:30-8:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the Pfeiffer Lecture Hall, located in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion, as part of the “Vietnam on Campus” series.

Tran will present a public lecture on “Vietnamese Culture and Her Destiny in Globalization Era.” She will share her views on cultural changes, which have been occurring in Vietnam since the mid 1980s.

Tran is a scholar-in-residence from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), an affiliated member of the Vietnam National University. She holds bachelor’s degrees in English and literature, a master’s degree in Vietnamese literature and a doctoral degree in the theory of history and literature.

The remaining event of this series will be a movie and discussion on April 12.
